At CES 2021 (Jan. 11-14, online), AMATELUS Co., Ltd., a Tokyo-based video tech startup, will present “SwipeVideo,” a novel 360-degree video streaming technology that lets viewers switch angles with a simple swipe on their screen. SwipeVideo Live, a new product to be demonstrated during the trade show, offers live streaming of 30 or more switchable angles, thanks to patented technology that can combine feeds – from a potentially infinite number of angles – in a single stream video.
SwipeVideo is able to create lightweight videos that allow viewers to switch between angles without delay (“buffering”) and watch them over both 4G and 5G networks. What’s more, viewers can enjoy watching SwipeVideo via any web browser, including Safari and Chrome, without needing to download an app or the videos themselves.
“We are extremely excited to be a part of CES 2021,” said Shinya Shimojo, CEO of AMATELUS. He added “With SwipeVideo we have overcome one of the biggest obstacles of creating true multi-angle and free-viewpoint video, which is the need to steam large amounts of information simultaneously. Our videos allow infinite angles to be streamed and switched instantly with no loss of picture quality and with no need for buffering.”
